Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

EmailProber is operated by Search Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 10588553), with a registered office at 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our email validation tools at emailprober.com, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Email addresses you submit

When you use our validator, you submit email addresses to be checked. These addresses are used solely to run the requested validation checks (syntax, DNS, MX, SMTP, etc.) in real time. We do not store submitted email addresses after the request is complete.

IP addresses and request data

We log your IP address and basic request metadata (timestamp, tool used, response code) for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are not sold or shared.

API account information

If you register for API access, we collect your email address and a hashed password. This information is used solely to manage your account and API key. We do not collect payment information — the API is free.

Information collected automatically

We may collect browser type, referrer URL, and general geographic region derived from your IP address. This data is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to improve performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the service — Running validation checks against DNS, SMTP, and third-party data sources.
  • Security and abuse prevention — Rate limiting, CAPTCHA enforcement, and detecting misuse.
  • API account management — Authentication, API key generation, and usage tracking.
  • Service improvement — Aggregate analytics to understand usage patterns and fix issues.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Cloudflare

Our site is protected by Cloudflare, which processes traffic to defend against DDoS attacks and bots. Cloudflare may set cookies and collect IP addresses as part of this service. We also use Cloudflare Turnstile for CAPTCHA verification on validation forms. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for details.

DNS resolvers and mail servers

Validation checks involve connecting to public DNS servers and, for SMTP checks, directly to the recipient domain’s mail server. The email address you submit may be transmitted to that mail server as part of a standard SMTP handshake. This is an inherent part of how email validation works.

DNS blacklist providers

Blacklist checks query public DNSBL services (such as Spamhaus). These queries are made using the domain you submit and may be visible to those providers.

4. Cookies

We use only the cookies that are necessary to operate the site:

  • Session cookie — Maintained if you are signed into an API account. Expires when you close your browser or sign out.
  • Cloudflare cookies — Set automatically by Cloudflare for security purposes (e.g., __cf_bm). These are essential and cannot be disabled without breaking site protection.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

  • Submitted emails — Not stored. Discarded immediately after the validation response is returned.
  • Request logs — Retained for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
  • API account data — Retained until you delete your account. You can request deletion by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we do not store email addresses submitted for validation, the primary data we hold is your API account information (if applicable). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. Children’s Privacy

EmailProber is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of EmailProber after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise your data rights, please contact us at [email protected].
