These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the EmailProber website and services located at emailprober.com, operated by Search Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 10588553), with a registered office at 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using EmailProber, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The Service
EmailProber provides free email address validation tools including syntax checking, DNS and MX record lookups, SMTP verification, disposable detection, blacklist scanning, and related checks (“the Service”). The Service is provided free of charge for both individual and bulk web-based use. API access is also free and requires a registered account and attribution.
2. Acceptable Use
You may use EmailProber for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to facilitate spam, phishing, or any unsolicited bulk email campaign.
- Harvest, scrape, or systematically collect email addresses or validation results at a rate that disrupts the Service, circumvents rate limits, or bypasses CAPTCHA controls.
- Use the Service to validate email lists obtained without the recipients’ consent.
- Attempt to access, probe, or test the security of EmailProber systems without authorisation.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations, including data protection laws in your jurisdiction.
- Resell or sub-license the Service or its results as a standalone product without our written consent.
3. API Use
Free API access is available to registered users who display a visible attribution link to EmailProber on their website or application. The API is subject to a rate limit of 10 requests per hour per account. We reserve the right to suspend or revoke API access for accounts that abuse rate limits, violate these Terms, or use the API in a way that degrades service quality for other users.
4. No Guarantee of Accuracy
Email validation is an inherently probabilistic process. SMTP servers may accept or reject connections for reasons unrelated to whether a mailbox exists. Some servers block automated probes, and catch-all servers accept all addresses regardless of validity. EmailProber provides results on a best-effort basis. We make no warranty, express or implied, that validation results are accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. You should not rely solely on EmailProber results when making decisions about email deliverability.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EmailProber and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, given the Service is free, will be zero).
7. Third-Party Services
The Service interacts with third-party systems including DNS servers, mail servers, and DNSBL providers. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of those third-party services.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding on EmailProber is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the site without our prior written consent.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
